Mrs. Jessica Overholt
Mrs. Overholt is currently in her 31st year of teaching (28th year at Fredericktown). Her first music lessons began at the age of 5 when she started taking piano lessons. Following high school she graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University with a Bachelor Of Music Education degree and had the opportunity to perform with several collegiate ensembles, the Ohio University Marching 110, Wind Symphony , Flute Ensemble and University Band. After graduation she was hired to teach band and general music at Greenfield Exempted Village Schools located in Greenfield, OH. After two years of teaching she met her husband and decided to move closer to her hometown of Mt. Vernon. After a year of substitute teaching in Fredericktown, Mt. Vernon and Reynoldsburg, she was hired to teach band and general music at Fredericktown. She completed her Master of Education degree at Ashland University in 2001.
Mrs. Katie Dearth
Mrs. Dearth is currently in her 10th year with Fredericktown Local Schools as our choir director. Mrs. Dearth graduated from Capital University with Bachelors of Music in Education and Horn Performance. She taught one year each with Akron Public Schools and Bishop Hartley High School, and six years with St. Francis de Sales School in Newark. Mrs. Dearth completed Level 1, 2 and 3 training in Orff-Schulwerk at the University of Kentucky and completed her Master of Music Education degree at Capital University in 2019.
